I started out in the lab, first in compound screening and then in genetics, and developed an interest in computational methods after realizing how much time, effort and accuracy it could save. I currently work at a pharmaceutical company in the scientific computing group. Much like when I was a lab technician, I enjoy focusing on the small problems so others can focus on the big ones. That means helping biologists find and access the data they need, and providing infrastructure and data sharing tools for computational biologists.
